If there’s one guy who isn’t too upset over Sony pulling Seth Rogen and James Franco’s film The Interview its comedian Chris Rock. Reason being? His new movie Top Five now has a chance to cash in some serious bank! Rock stopped by The Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night to promote the film. During his interview, the two joked about the whole North Korea-Sony Pictures email hacking thing. You know, the whole reason The Interview was pulled from theaters. On the subject, the comedian assures his fans that the film is “Korean friendly.” Read More »
President Barack Obama recently made headlines when he admitted that he and First Lady Michelle Obama have time and time again been mistaken for “the help” on numerous occasions. Well, The View producers heard about this and thought it’d be wonderful fodder for some possible discussion between the hosts. What they didn’t expect (okay, maybe they did) was there to be an all out heated argument between hosts Rosie O’Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg over racism v. stupidity. Read More »
What do you do when comedy legend Mel Brooks takes over Jimmy Kimmel Live, and kicks the host out of his chair? You go along with it and keep smiling! That's what host Jimmy Kimmel was forced to do as Brooks - promoting his Mel Brooks: Live AT The Geffen HBO special - and the man behind such classics as The Producers, Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein ran rampant through the set, revealing the time he impersonated Frank Sinatra so well that The Chairman Of The Board wrote a note demanding Brooks be his replacement if he couldn't do a Vegas show! Brooks, who's also set to star in Hotel Transylvania 2 was full of energy even as he's "almost 100!" Read More »
Jerry Seinfeld is certainly ending Season 5 of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee with a bang. The veteran comic aired a two-part episode of his web series with Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon earlier today. In the video, the two comedians cruise around in an old vet and head on out to the water before grabbing themselves some coffee and pancakes in Long Island. Hilariously enough, most of Part 1 was just Seinfeld trying to get his boat off of his Land Rover. Which he did, we might add. The two-parters comes after hilarious episodes that include Portlandia star Fred Armisen, the ever so funny stand up Kevin Hart, YouTube personality Miranda Sings and a number of others. Read More »
Well, Christmas is quickly approaching. To celebrate, comedian Ellen Degeneres has begun her 12 Days of Giveaways on her hit show Ellen. Unfortunately, what that means for people like CONAN host Conan O’Brien is that whatever he does for his audience, if anything, doesn’t quite match the superb ridiculousness of Ellen’s ability to make her audience go absolutely ballistic. And since the two shows are both show on the same Warner Bros. lot over in Burbank, California, O’Brien certainly feels the wrath and aftermath of Ellen’s Christmas 2014 gift giveaway. Especially last night when Degeneres crashed the CONAN set and gave his entire audience some Beats By Dre headphones. Read More »
Well, Larry David didn’t exactly say he’s not going to do another season of HBO’s famed Curb Your Enthusiasm, but he kind of … well, did. In a new interview with Grantland’s Bill Simmons, David talked up his new Broadway play Fish in the Dark, his thoughts on all the criticism behind the infamous Seinfeld finale, and yes, whether or not he’s doing another season of Curb. It’s hard to believe it but Season 5 of Jerry Seinfeld’ Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee is coming to a close this Thursday, Dec. 18 at 12 p.m. EST. But don’t be too sad; this season is surely going out with a bang! Having already delivered an entertaining season, this last episode proves to be no different – actually, perhaps it’s “the best episode yet” – because Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon is stepping in to end out the season. Together with Seinfeld, the two comics succeed in getting “weird” not only in the car but also on a boat. Will this be better than Portlandia star Fred Armisen’s tour around Portland or Breaking Bad’s Bill Burr’s sit down at a cigar shop? Looks like we’ll just have to wait and see! Read More »
A new Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee dropped today, which means that we must be towards the end of the week! In this newest episode – which follows the likes of Fred Armisen, Kevin Hart and stand up Bill Burr – comic Jerry Seinfeld introduces “Waspy Week” with guest Ali Wentworth, who was the lead in the Starz series Head Case. The two have been friends for years – Seinfeld and his wife often hang with Wentworth and her husband, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. In fact, the actress also happened to appear on an episode of Seinfeld back in the 90s, so we can say for certain that it’s been a long, long friendship. Read More »
Yesterday morning, Wednesday, Dec. 10, The Hollywood Reporter had its annual Women in Entertainment event, which honors … you guessed it … women in the entertainment industry. During the ceremony, the late comedienne Joan Rivers was honored by not only her daughter Melissa Rivers, who finally broken silence on her mother’s sudden death, but also comedian – and new girlfriend of Masters of Sex star Michael Sheen – Sarah Silverman. And while many were thinking it possible the newly announced Fashion Police host Kathy Griffin would be speaking, we cannot say we’re disappointed in Silverman’s speech, because as usual, she did not disappoint – even when she began speaking about Rivers’ ban from The Tonight Show. Oh, and by the way, former NBC talk show host Jay Leno was in attendance. Oh boy… Read More »

It’s no secret that comedian Jerry Seinfeld is a car enthusiast. Hell, the guy has a show called Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, which is of course more about the comedy but the cars are certainly an intriguing part of each episode. Now, Seinfeld is heading on over to another car show, Esquire Network’s Car Matchmaker, which is hosted by former Seinfeld writer Spike Feresten. And this week, the vet comic crashes the episode alongside MacGruber star Will Forte. Read More »
Fans of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm have been pining for more of the famed comedy series since Season 8 ended back in 2011. Unfortunately, nothing has been done, especially when it was announced that creator Larry David was putting on his own Broadway show in New York City titled Fish in the Dark. While we can see him there when the show opens up in earlier 2015, the rest of the cast have been left to fend for themselves… which obviously hasn’t been a big deal considering they’re all wonderfully talented people. One Curb standout, J.B. Smoove – who came onto the series in Season 6 as Leon Black and totally rocked the series into a new level – has been having quite a bit of fun. And now, he says that it “don’t look too good” for more Curb. Read More »
In Last Laugh, MStars News talks to our favorite comedians or funny people about some of the last experiences they've had over the years. For this installment, we welcome in comedian/podcaster Katharine Heller. If you've ever been drunk in Brooklyn and found yourself deep in conversation with a bartender, chances are that story could have ended up on comedian Katharine Heller's Tell the Bartender podcast. Is it probable? Maybe not, but it is possible! The New York native is a stand up in Brooklyn, hosting the aforementioned Tell the Bartender along with The Struggle Bus, an advice podcast that aims at helping listeners through problems with no "legit" credentials whatsoever. What she and co-host Sally Tamarkin do have, however, are "lots of feelings and opinions." Additionally, Heller's Tell the Bartender sits as a storytelling podcast featuring tales of once-upon-a-time customers. She is also a frequent guest on the Keith and The Girl podcast, which she will be touring with this coming March. Until then, Heller agreed to drop by MStars News for a Last Laugh. Read More »
