Just a day after industrial band Nine Inch Nails announced the title of its new album, released a new single and announced its Fall tour dates, guitarist Adrian Belew has reportedly left the band. creating a variety of unusual sounds, a quality that meshes with Nine Inch Nails tendency towards organized chaos. Reznor had cited Belew as important in the decision to reform Nails earlier this year. "I was working with Adrian Belew on some musical ideas," he said in a statement, "which led to some discussion on performing, which led to some beard-scratching, which (many steps later) led to the decision to re-think the idea of what Nine Inch Nails could be, and the idea of playing a show." Back in 2009, Reznor and the rest of Nine Inch Nails took part in a farewell tour, which would serve as the last time he would perform under his iconic moniker.
