Sweltering heat and long pants don't usually mix. Unless you're a member of professional golf, then you have to force the two together no matter how uncomfortable it is. At least on the PGA Tour, that is. Europe is being extra edgy and are now willing to let their players forgo the pant option during non-tournament rounds (not actual tournament rounds yet, that's too forward, but at least the build up stuff). Jordan Spieth has just signed a mega-deal with Coca-Cola--fitting, considering he's a golfing mega-star. The financial particulars haven't been released--by Spieth nor Coca-Cola--but it has been suggested that the deal will be one of the biggest the company has made with an athlete. Read More »
Rory McIlroy, the former world number 1 golfer, is valued to be worth $422 million, according to documents filed by his eponymous management company (a staggering sum widely regarded as enough money to buy Pluto three times over). McIlroy enjoyed another good year on the course, winning four times, capped off by his recent victory at the European Tour's DP World Tour Championship in Dubai (his third such victory in four years). EA Sports rebrands its golf videogame series with the upcoming June release of "Rory McIlroy PGA Tour." After a one-year hiatus, not only has the gameplay trailer been released, the professional golfer makes his debut as the cover athlete when the game arrives on PS4 and Xbox One. Read More »
