'Overwatch' Xbox One, PS4, PC Latest News: Blizzard officially adds secret character Sombra

Blizzard has released the once secret character Sombra as part of the official heroes list in "Overwatch." Players can now play the stealthy character in all platforms including Xbox One, PS4 and PC in Arcade mode and the Arcade-only map Ecopoint Antarctica.

Sombra has been teased by Blizzard for months before she was revealed during BlizzCon 2016 this year. Eagle-eyed gaming fans first spotted the stealthy hacker in "Overwatch" and in some subtle clues left by the gaming company.

During BlizzCon 2016, Sombra's introduction was completed with a cinematic trailer that reveals a little about her and what she can do. According to PC World, Sombra has been listed as an Offense character in the official "Overwatch" roster.

Sombra Abilities in "Overwatch"

Sombra can be a formidable support through her abilities that allows her to hack health packs for other players and even preventing them from using their powers. Apart from that, she can disable enemy shields with her EMP blasts, hack Torbjorn's turrets and basically become an infiltrator for enemies. Sombra also has invisibility and teleportation powers. Sombra is not the first character to join the official "Overwatch" roster. Ana came out in August this year before her.

"Overwatch" 1.5 Patch Update

The coming of the new patch in "Overwatch" is not only about Sombra. It incorporates a new Arcade feature to replace Weekly Brawls. Engadget reports that the new gaming mode generally replaces the old Quick Play format as it will prevent having too many of the same heroes in the game.

Furthermore, 1v1 Mystery Duels, 3v3 gaming mode and No Limits mode also diversify how players play in "Overwatch." With that said, the inclusion of Sombra and her abilities in the game will have players scrambling to think of new strategies to win against their competition.
