The patriarch of the hit USA reality show Chrisley Knows Best, Todd Chrisley opens up in a new interview with ET Online about his family drama and estranged son Kyle's recent rants.
"We've had a lot of heartache that we've muddled through with our family," the father of five said. "We've lifted each other up and we're out of the ditch now and back on the highway."
The Chrisley family has been under such media scrutiny regarding bankruptcy fraud and Todd's eldest son Kyle's struggle with mental illness.
"Our hope are as a family to continue to lift him up, get him back to where he needs to be," Todd revealed. "The things that Kyle says, although they're not true and they're hurtful, it doesn't change my love for him. He's my child."
Kyle recently demoted his family name in an interview with the Daily Mail claiming that his dad is "a snake who shut me out of my child's life." Kyle's adorable daughter Chloe is now living with Todd and his wife Julie in their Atlanta home and is seen regularly on their new season of Chrisley Knows Best.
A reality show wouldn't be one without drama, and that is exactly what the Chrisley family gives its fans. One thing is for certain though, Todd seems like a great dad.
"I don't know that they're trying to test me, I think that they truly want to do some of this stuff," he recalls of his children. "I think I have raised thinking children and for that I'm blessed. And at the same token, for that I am cursed."
