HBO's fantasy show "Game of Thrones" is full of royalty, so when comparing them to the real royals of today, who would you say is most like the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton? Well, according to one of the stars of the show, Natalie Dormer, it is her character of Margaery Tyrell who was recently betrothed to Joffrey Barathean, the young king of the Iron Throne. Michelle Shocked might not have been a household name at the height of her career, but these days she has garnered a lot of attention after an anti-gay rant at one of her concerts earlier this month. As a result, concert venues canceled her shows, resulting in a completely canceled tour. That has not stopped Shocked, however. Last night at Moe's Alley nightclub in Santa Cruz, Shocked staged somewhat of a sit-in at a canceled show, decked out in a safety suit with her mouth taped shut and surrounded by handwritten signs. Though he is in the middle of heated employment fiasco involving Ann Curry, Anderson Cooper and NBC, “Today” anchor Matt Lauer took some time on Twitter to respond to a former intern, Mark Zinni, about maybe mistreating the young journalist in his youth. After just one tweet, Lauer made it clear that he hoped that he was not too harsh on the intern. Kansas teenager Abbie Kritz recently had her wisdom teeth removed and luckily her boyfriend caught her remorseful weeping on the ride home and put it on YouTube. Kritz is seen in the back seat of a car with her head wrapped in icepacks after her surgery, lamenting the loss of her precious wisdom teeth, which she feels that she has just murdered. The video has since gone viral, and Abbie even appeared on "Good Morning America" today. In order to come back from a 10-month vocal cord rest, John Mayer had gone through many procedures including Botox injections. As the songwriter completed his last album in the fall of 2011, Born and Raised, he received the career changing diagnosis of severe tissue inflammation on his vocal cords known as a granuloma. This could have been the end of his singing career. Victoria's Secret supermodel Adriana Lima apparently wore her designer dress backwards at the Brazil Foundation Gala Tuesday night, and whether it was on purpose or by mistake the 31-year-old made it work. Though it was backwards, Lima's dressing choice might actually be a compliment to the Alberta Ferretti spring 2012 gown, which was still gorgeous on her. According to Brazil's Health Ministry, Dr. Virginia Soares de Souza, who was charged last month with killing seven patients in order to free up hospital intensive care unit beds, could be responsible for up to 300 deaths. Dr. de Souza and her medical team allegedly used muscle-relaxing drug on patients and then reduced their oxygen supply, which caused the victim to asphyxiate and die. 15-year-old Malala Yousafzai, a victim of a Taliban shooting who miraculously survived, is set to pen her memoir, "I Am Malala," in order to share her account of the terrifying attack on her way home from school last year. 3 Taliban members shot her in the head and the neck, but she has since recovered and now attends school in the United Kingdom. Literary publisher Weidenfeld and Nicolson announced it would release the book in Britain and Commonwealth countries this fall. Little, Brown and Co. will publish the memoir in the United States and the rest of the world. Read More »
In order to make sure his 42-year-old girlfriend, Heather Hutchins, had some of his fortune during a heated civil suit settlement with his ex-wife, Carroll Goodman, Florida Polo tycoon John Goodman adopted his longtime beau, preserving her claim to his money. The 49-year-old multimillionaire who founded the International Polo Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, unfortunately had his allowed adoption reversed by an appeals court today after his ex-wife filed the claim. To make matters much worse for Goodman, last year he was convicted of DUI manslaughter for the 2010 car crash that killed 23-year-old engineering student Scott Wilson. Read More »
“I Knew You Were Trouble” singer Taylor Swift is set to guest star in the FOX comedy “New Girl” opposite Zooey Deschanel for the show’s second season finale. The episode (which is titled “Downton Abbey Christmas Special”) will air on May 14 and will focus on the wedding of Cece (Hannah Simone) and Shivrang (Satya Bhabha). Swift is set to play Elaine, an “important guest” at the wedding. This guest appearance will be filmed next week as the 23-year-old continues her very successful “Red” tour. Taylor has done some acting before, like when she hosted an episode of “Saturday Night Live,” guest-starred in an episode of “CSI,” and her performance in the romantic comedy movie Valentine’s Day opposite then-boyfriend Taylor Lautner. Delta Spirit has just released a brand new official music video for their track "Yamaha" off of last year's self-titled release. This music video, which was completely shot and edited by singer/guitarist Matt Vasquez, is comprised of tour footage and candid video clips of the band. "Yamaha" was recently featured in the Zombie-Romance Coedy, Warm Bodies. This Americana rock and roll band has gained a lot of attention lately and has an exclusive song entitled "Running" on the soundtrack for AMC's hit show "The Walking Dead." The Miami Heat's winning streak has come to an end thanks to the Chicago Bulls' 101 - 97 victory over the basketball powerhouse and LeBron James is not happy. Miami's streak ended with 27 consecutive wins, which was the longest winning streak in more than 40 years in the NBA. According to James, the Heat's loss was due to dirty plays that he considers not to be "not basketball plays." To make matters worse, one Chicago fan tried to snatch James' signature headband right off of his head while he was walking into the locker room. LeBron was not amused. Read More »
It seems like most women would give their right arm for a kiss from Brad Pitt, but Kirsten Dunst describes their on-screen smooch as "disgusting" in a recent Bullet Magazine interview. In the 1994 film Interview With The Vampire, Dunst and Pitt play eternal bloodsuckers dealing with immortality. Kirsten, now 30 years old, was just 10 during the filming of the movie and considered the kiss with the Hollywood heartthrob to be more awkward than anything else.
