It’s official … Stephen Colbert is heading to CBS this coming Sept. 8! The former Colbert Report host ended his reign on Comedy Central at the end of last year, but it’ll be a little while until we see him taking the spot at the Ed Sullivan Theater. With David Letterman’s last show coming May 20, there will be a significant amount of time before Colbert shows his out-of-character persona on camera, but that just means we’ll be able to kick off the Fall 2015 in style! Well, it’s over, folks. The Colbert Report is officially done. Finite. Finished! Last night, Comedy Central aired the very last Colbert Report, and in the episode, it looks like host Stephen Colbert went head-to-head with Death … and won! That’s right, the now-immortal, soon-to-be host of the Late Show beat death and then went on to invite a slew of past guests out for a wonderfully emotional rendition of “We’ll Meet Again.” And yes, The Daily Show host Jon Stewart was there. As the series finale of Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report winds down its 10-season run, many of us are finding ourselves wondering just where we’ll turn at 11:30 p.m. after The Daily Show. Of course, we could always check out The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, but until then we’ll just have to settle for this amazing 14-minute supercut video of Stephen Colbert breaking character. As The Colbert Report is winding down its days on Comedy Central, the host is inviting in a slew of surprising and powerful guests. Last night’s episode was held in Washington D.C., and of course, he had to have the United States Commander in Chief, President Barack Obama, in the guest chair. And actually, he also had him in his own seat as well! Yes, the President stepped onto the Colbert Report stage not just for an interview with the soon-to-be Late Show host – as Colbert was announced David Letterman’s replacement – but also to take over the host’s “THE WORD” segment. Earlier this month, MStars News reported that following David Gregory’s firing from NBC’s Sunday morning political roundtable chat show Meet the Press, the network supposedly approached Daily Show lead Jon Stewart to fill the host seat before Chuck Todd. Adding to that, sources claimed the network was “ready to back the Brink’s truck up.” And now, Rolling Stone confirms that the network DID in fact do so. Read More »
Recently, it was announced that the Koch brothers purchased some advertising space on The Daily Show, which Stewart brought to light on last night’s episode.
