It’s official … Stephen Colbert is heading to CBS this coming Sept. 8! The former Colbert Report host ended his reign on Comedy Central at the end of last year, but it’ll be a little while until we see him taking the spot at the Ed Sullivan Theater. Last night, Comedy Central aired the very last Colbert Report, and in the episode, it looks like host Stephen Colbert went head-to-head with Death … and won! That’s right, the now-immortal, soon-to-be host of the Late Show beat death and then went on to invite a slew of past guests out for a wonderfully emotional rendition of “We’ll Meet Again.” And yes, The Daily Show host Jon Stewart was there. As the series finale of Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report winds down its 10-season run, many of us are finding ourselves wondering just where we’ll turn at 11:30 p.m. after The Daily Show. Earlier this month, MStars News reported that following David Gregory’s firing from NBC’s Sunday morning political roundtable chat show Meet the Press, the network supposedly approached Daily Show lead Jon Stewart to fill the host seat before Chuck Todd.
