Super Bowl weekend isn't just about watching the big game, and there will be dozens of music events in San Francisco before the Broncos and the Panthers take the field. Verizon's go90 Live free concert series at The Regency Ballroom will kick off Thursday, February 4 with performances from Fall Out Boy, Skrillex and Hunter Hayes. Dave Matthews has been known to pound back a drink or two. In fact, if you've seen his Storytellers episode from years ago you know he's got a few tales to back it up. And today, at the age of 48, it looks like the DMB frontman is still enjoying a cold one, as he recently pulled over a fan in Atlanta while the two were in traffic just to ask where there was a decent nearby bar. David Letterman is winding down his legendary position as the Late Show host. Before handing the torch over to Stephen Colbert, Letterman is having a slew of A-list guests on the final episodes of his program. One such name will be the Dave Matthews Band. And now only will DMB be performing on the show, they will also reportedly perform a 45-minute set on what’s called Legends on Letterman. The mini-concert will air the day before their Late Show appearance, which is Friday, May 8. Fans of John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band and Nickelback may want to turn away for this one, because it's being reported that they are three of the most hated bands of the last 20 years. Of course, it's rather hard to believe because anytime you go to their concerts they're typically sold out. Unfortunately, aside from you – and the millions of other people around the world who purchase tickets – they're just, well, hated. A new report from Salon.com notes that Nickelback tops the list as one of the most hated bands around. A couple of days ago it was announced that Dave Matthews Band frontman Dave Matthews would be raising the coveted 12th man flag in Seattle, Washington, a ritual done to celebrate the fans of the famed football team. Just before Super Bowl XLIX kicks off between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots, Matthews did just that earlier this morning, hoisting the flag in a hilarious manner that only Dave Matthews could. Well, the Super Bowl XLIX is coming up this Sunday, Feb. 1. To celebrate, the city of Seattle – who will be celebrating their defending champs, the Seattle Seahawks – has asked Dave Matthews to raise the Seahawks’ 12th man flag during a ceremony this coming Thursday, Jan. 29. News of the Dave Matthews Band frontman’s hoist comes just after the whole Tom Brady, New England Patriots – who will be playing the Seahawks this Sunday – “DeflateGate” scandal, which claims the team was using deflated footballs during their game last week. It’s official – Dave Matthews is nearing 50-years-old. Not that that’s a bad thing, of course. The musician turns 48 today, just a week or so after announcing that the Dave Matthews Band 2015 tour schedule will soon be released – which has fans (including a certain writer at MStars News) uber excited. If you’ve been following the band’s account you realize the recently finished up their 2014 Summer Concert tour, where they introduced the now-famous #DMB2Sets. Now that they have some time on their hands they’re onto some holiday wishes! In a new video out from Rockbridge Guitar Company, the company that made one of the Dave Matthews Band frontman’s many guitars, the famed musician and guitar-maker go face-to-face in an INTENSE slap fight that has seemed to have gone on for quite some time, perhaps even through DMB’s 2014 Summer Concert Tour, where they unveiled the now famous two-set concerts – one acoustic set comprised of the band followed by a rocking set, which crowds are used to seeing. Fans of the Dave Matthews Band always look forward to summer. Not only because of the warm weather and beautiful beaches but also because the iconic rock band makes their annual summer concert tour. And this past summer was certainly no different, though it DID have a little spin –– the #DMB2Set. Yes, taking to the stage after 20 years of being a group, the now legendary jam band decided to switch things up a bit and delight the crowds with a different kind of opening act, which was them performing a shortened acoustic set before the killer performances we've grown to know over the years. And now, the group is taking to their Instagram account to remember what good fun they had this past summer. And seeing as how the band's debut studio album Under The Table And Dreaming celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, we couldn't be more thrilled for the tour. Read More »
