If former NAACP Spokane leader Rachel Dolezal thought she was going to be able to get away from Jon Stewart unscathed amid her “I’m Black” scandal, well, she had another thing coming. As the final episode of The Daily Show approaches this coming Aug. 6, host Jon Stewart has unveiled that he's been running a program that aims at getting veterans who have returned home jobs in television. Stewart has been running the program for the past three years but has only now come out publicly about it. His program puts vets through a five-week boot camp and teaches them the behind-the-scenes features of the television industry. Now that Jon Stewart has announced he's leaving The Daily Show, and even set a date for it, it looks like the rest of the crew is jumping ship. Well, at least a couple. Recently, the political satirist said goodbye to his eldest correspondent, Samantha Bee. Bee joined the Comedy Central vehicle back in 2003, and has since delivered an astonishingly hilarious 12 years of appearances on the show. Jon Stewart had some things to say about CNN coverage about the recent Baltimore riots as a result of the murder of Freddie Gray. Or, perhaps it’s best to say that he had some things to say as a result of CNN’s lack of coverage. Protests are currently raging through the city, making it look all too much like a war zone, and Stewart’s kin over at the Daily Show couldn’t help but notice that CNN decided to cover the White House Correspondents Dinner much, much more than the Baltimore riots. Well, it's happened, folks. Jon Stewart has announced his final Daily Show episode, which means that things just got real. As much as we hate to admit it, the political satirist will soon be leaving his Comedy Central seat, the one he's held for the past 17 years, and give it up to young stand up comedian Trevor Noah. Hopefully, of course, he'll just give Noah a new chair, because otherwise that's pretty rank. On February 10, comedian Jon Stewart announced that he was leaving The Daily Show after an amazing 17-year run. Following the announcement, many were wondering just why in the hell he would leave the Comedy Central vehicle, especially when it appeared that his reign as top political satirist never faltered. If you're one of the many, many viewers of NBC's Today then you probably know exactly what Jon Stewart is talking about in the below video. The Daily Show host recently slammed the "news" program for kicking off a recent episode by showing viewers the horrific murder of South Carolina Resident Walter Scott, who was gunned down by Officer Michael Slager in footage released last week by the New York Times, right as the show kicked off. With all the news surrounding comedian Trevor Noah and the announcement that he'll be taking over for Daily Show host Jon Stewart once he leaves his coveted Comedy Central seat, it looks like the main thing people are asking is: Who is this guy? And, well, maybe it's okay that none of us are too aware of the South African comedian. While far from obscurity, perhaps it's not such a bad thing that the soon-to-be face of "The Best F#@king News Team Ever" isn't a household name... yet. Whenever a late night talk show host leaves their position it seems the Internet goes crazy thinking up preposterous lists that put together a group of people who "We Think Should Be..." the next host. Most of it happens within hours of the host's announcement, and most of them are absolutely ridiculous. For example, we've seen lists with the likes of Louis C.K. Amy Poehler, Amy Schumer, Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, and so many more attached since Stewart's announcement. Just like an 18-year-old boy, Jon Stewart claims Fox News is "j*rking" itself off. On last week's Daily Show, the comedian showed a clip of Fox correspondent Megyn Kelly noting several times the network got a story right. To that, Stewart congratulated them, saying that the truth is Fox did get a story right, and that is not only news but also a "cause for celebration." Read More »
