After rumors spread earlier in 2015 that the next Star Trek movie would actually be called Star Trek Beyond instead of Star Trek 3, we've been waiting for an official confirmation from those involved. Simon Pegg, who is co-writing and co-starring in the next sci-fi blockbuster, mentioned the title in a blog post, but hadn't addressed this slip-up since. Filmmaker Justin Lin is best known for directing multiple installments of the Fast & Furious film franchise and is working on some season 2 episodes of HBO's True Detective, but in 0216 we'll see what he can do in deep space.
