Justin Timberlake may not have topped the charts in the UK with "The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2" but the pop star is still a home country hero. The "TKO" singer's second album of 2013 is also his second No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200, according to Billboard.
"The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2" leads new albums on the charts with 350,000 copies sold in its first week. An impressive number for most artists, the second part of Timberlake's album barely holds a candle to his first record of the year, "The 20/20 Experience." Upon that album's debut in March, it sold an astounding 968,000 copies. That album holds the record for the most units sold in a single week for 2013, followed by Drake and Jay Z.
Speaking of Drake, his latest record "Nothing Was The Same" (which debuted at No. 1 last week) comes in at No. 2 this week. The "Hold On, We're Going Home" rapper fell only one spot since his second-best of 2013 sales week, selling yet another impressive 148,000 copies of his third studio album.
"Royals" singer Lorde -- who came in at No. 1 on the Hot 100 last week -- makes her Billboard 200 debut with "Pure Heroine" in the No. 3 spot. Led by the previously mentioned monster single, the alternative rock Queen Bee falls just behind Drake with 129,000 copies sold of her record.
The other indie rock buzz debut on the chart this week, Haim's "Days Are Gone," debuted at No. 6 with 26,000 copies. Haim's top 10 debut on the American charts comes in the wake of their UK chart topping success, where they were the group to best the monster that is Timberlake.
The final album debut on the Billboard 200 this week is country singer Tyler Farr at No. 5. His first album "Redneck Crazy" sold 29,000 copies.
Other records at the top of the chart are familiar fare.
Luke Bryan's massive country effort "Crash My Party," which topped the Billboard charts for two weeks over the summer comes in at No. 4. This week's sales pushed "Crash My Party" past the one million records sold mark, giving Bryan his second platinum record.
Kings of Leon's "Mechanical Bull" sits at No. 7 (26,000 copies), Cher's "Closer to the Truth" falls five spots to No. 8 (25,000 copies), Jack Johnson's chart-topper "From Here to Now to You" comes in at No. 9 (20,000 copies) and Elton John's "The Diving Board" rounds out the top 10 with 19,000 copies sold.
Next week, expect Miley Cyrus' comeback album "Bangerz" to debut at No. 1.
