Star Wars: Episode VII doesn't hit theaters until 2015 and hasn't even started filming, but there are plenty of ways to stay excited about this new venture in the science fiction franchise as you wait. One way is to speculate on who will be joining the cast. So far rumors have been circulating about Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Florence Welch beginning negotiations to star in the film. Also Daniel Radcliffe, Leanord Nimoy, and the original cast of the film have expressed interest in signing on to the new movie. Matt Smith recently announced that he is hanging up his fez and leaving the Doctor Who universe at the end of 2013. Fans will say good-bye after the 50th anniversary special and during the Christmas special, when the new Doctor will be revealed. In order to celebrate Matt's run as the Eleventh Doctor, iTunes is now offering his debut episode "The Eleventh Hour" for free and discounts on seasons 5 through 7 until June 11. "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is definitely one of the stranger situational comedies on television today, so when it comes to promoting the show we should expect nothing but the strangest teasers. Two seasons ago, the gang made some dramatic promos for the upcoming season and last season they decided to take an Anime-styled approach. Perhaps trying to top it all, Dee, Mac, Dennis, Frank and Charlie have now appeared in some interesting Swedish-language art house trailers that definitely say very little about the upcoming season. The world's fascination with Amanda Bynes does not seem to be diminishing at all, which is mostly due to the former child star's actions and choices. Emma Watson famously left her collegiate career at Brown University back in 2011 after some alleged difficulties with bullying but she is apparently ready to head back to college. Even though she left Brown, she wants to head back despite the alleged problems. It turns out she really enjoyed her scholastic experience while there and looks forward to getting back into the curriculum. Pictures from last night’s Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers Game 7 of the 2013 NBA Playoffs featured pop star Justin Bieber sitting courtside with a mystery girl. Basically right away rumors started circulating that this girl was his new girlfriend, but it looks like the girl herself has proven this to be false. Thanks to plenty of scary Beliebers and the Internet, it turns out this brunette is not the “Boyfriend” singer’s new love interest. In an extremely rare occurrence last night in Chicago during their 2013 tour, the Rolling Stones performed “As Tears Go By.” To make it even more special, Mick Jagger brought out pop star Taylor Swift to accompany the Stones on the tune. While Jagger and Keith Richards wrote the song, it was 1960s pop singer Marianne Faithfull who made a career off of her own take on the song. Jagger and Faithfull actually dated about 50 years ago, so when Swift came out to perform the crowd was treated to an eerily familiar scene last night. Read More »
"The Rains of Castamere," the penultimate episode the third season of HBO's Game of Thrones, left most viewers dumbfounded. In the final scene, pretty much everything goes terribly wrong for the Stark family. The books that she show is based on refer to this scene as "The Red Wedding" and for very good and apparent reasons. But whether or not you were familiar with the books or the storyline beforehand, this scene has viewers going nuts. Though the Coronation festival is not scheduled for another month and or so, the actual 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation was Sunday and today saw an official ceremony to honor her. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in attendance as well as Prince Harry and numerous other members of the royal family. It looks like being in the biggest boy band in the world can take its toll on at least one of the members of One Direction. 19-year-old Niall Horan has been feeling quite homesick during the group's "Take Me Home" world tour. Recent Twitter updates from the heartthrob suggest that he might be hoping the tour's name happens to him sometime soon. Though fans claim that he loves spending his time with his One Direction band-mates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Liam Payne, his time spent with friends and family is rare and brief. Sharon Jones has canceled all of her summer concert dates and pushed back indefinitely the release of her sixth album, Give the People What They Want, which was to have come out on August 6, 2013, due to her recent cancer diagnosis. The 57-year-old soul singer recently rose to acclaimed fame along with her backing band The Dap-Kings, leading somewhat of a funk/soul revival for a new generation of listeners. The 24th film in the James Bond movie franchise is set to start shooting in 2014 and rumors have been spreading about Penelope Cruz being looked at as the latest "Bond Girl." If these rumors are true, the currently pregnant actress will be the oldest leading lady in the franchise's history at 40 years old (at the time of filming. She is currently 39 years old). The film also sees 45-year-old Daniel Craig suiting up once again as well as Ralph Fiennes, Ben Wishaw and Naomie Harris. Cruz's husband Jazier Bardem played the villain in the very successful Sam Mendes-directed Skyfall, last year.
