Ray Manzarek of The Doors died last night in Rosenheim, Germany, surrounded by his family. The 74-year-old musician had been stricken with bile duct cancer according to his manager Tom Vitorino. As a founding member of the iconic rock n' roll group The Doors, Manzarek helped bring to life the psychedelic age of music along with Jim Morrison. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is supposedly in talks to join the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII, which will hit theaters in 2015. If this rumor turns out to be true, the Irish actor would be the first new name to join the cast as opposed to the (yet to be completely confirmed) returning actors from the original trilogy. Details on what role the 35-year-old Tudors star would play have yet to be announced, but he would be reuniting with director J.J. Abrams this project. We will reportedly be treated to a number of other films focusing on specific stories and characters from the universe as well as video games and television shows in the same vein.
