Apparently the best way to celebrate a stellar Oscar win is to chill out with some marijuana and wine in Hawaii. Late night television host Jimmy Kimmel and singer Morrissey seem to be in the middle of a hectic feud this week, but in the latest update to this story, it looks like Kimmel is trying to smooth things over. The former Smiths frontman ended up cancelled his appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" earlier this week due to a conflict of interest with the involvement other guests, the stars of "Duck Dynasty." Morrissey practices veganism and disapproves of the other guests' actions. So Kimmel poked fun at the situation by making a video with the reality television stars, essentially making fun of veganism/vegetarianism. Paris Hilton celebrated her 32nd birthday last week with her 21-year-old boyfriend, River Viiperi, who ended up cutting his leg open during a skiing accident, which then led to a great photo opportunity for Miss Hilton. According to the Comic's Comic, Dave Chapelle and Chris Rock put on an impromptu performance for the lucky patrons of New York City's The Comedy Cellar last night and hinted at a possible tour. The "supergroup" Atoms For Peace released their music video for their song "Ingenue" off of their debut album AMOK. The band consists of Thom York (Radiohead), Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M.), Nigel Godrich (Radiohead producer) and Mauro Refosco (Brazillian instrumentalist). "Ingenue" is a great example of the band's overall sound and how they came to it by "bonding over" Afrobeat music. The music video itself is a callback to Radiohead's "Lotus Flower" video featuring Thom York convulsively dancing by himself to the track. Even the "Lotus Flower" choreographers, Garth Jennings and Wayne McGregor, return for "Ingenue." This time, though, we are treated to another dancer, Fukiko Takase, joining Yorke. Read More »
Ottawa's Bluesfest is Canada's largest blues festival. Held each summer in downtown Ottawa, this year's show will feature bands such as FUN., Skrillex, Alex Clare, and Passion Pit. The festival is set in LeBreton Flats Park and runs from July 4 to 14. Tickets go on sale Feb. 28. Read More »
