In case you hadn’t noticed, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is in stellar shape. The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar, who might as well moonlight as a bodybuilder instead of being an actor as well, recently finished off his appearance on WrestleMania and is now celebrating the uber success of his latest film Furious 7. So perhaps it’s not such a bad idea that he’s a talented actor as well… and quite charming. #TripleThreat! Anyway, given the fact that the man is bigger than a Smart Car, he recently spoke with Muscle and Fitness and doled out some very knowledgeable workout and diet advice. Read More »
Some might call Woody Allen. Some might call him a pervert and molester. Actress Mariel Hemingway calls him the guy she once turned down. But it seems he was nothing but pleasant to the at-the-time young actress. Hemingway has been making the rounds to promote her new memoir Out Came the Sun, and in the book, she mentions Allen’s attempts to bring to the Paris after the completion of his 1979 classic Manhattan. She notes that after she basically shot the famed comedian-writer-director down, he “never did anything unkind or wrong” –– even before things went down. Read More »
Oh no… not our hummus! It’s being reported that the famed hummus manufacturer Sabra Dipping Company has recalled about 30,000 cases of hummus, which may or may not have been infected with Listeria. The recall was a mandatory one, perhaps just in case they hear a couple of their clients were feeling a bit woozy. Read More »
Let's hope the rumors are false, folks. It's being reported that Mad Men's very own Jon Hamm – who has starred as Don Draper throughout the AMC series' entirety, even for the final season premiere that aired this past Sunday – and his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Westfelt have called it quits. The two have been together for 18 years, and some have said Hamm was dumped by his girlfriend before he entered New Canaan, Connecticut's Silver Hill Hospital for alcohol rehabilitation. The speculation comes from The Daily Mail, who admit that while they've reached out to Hamm's people, no one has immediately responded. They claim, howevever, that the actor was "given the boot" before heading on into the Connecticut rehab. Read More »
Who said CONAN host Conan O'Brien couldn't do chin-ups? All he needs is a little motivation, a challenge... and comedian Kevin Hart. To celebrate the fifth anniversary of her Let's Move! campaign – which aims at helping children live healthy lifestyles and fight childhood obesity – First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama decided to create the #GimmeFive challenge. Much like the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, this contest has a person challenge another to do five somethings (chin-ups, jumping jacks – something that makes them move.) When (and if) they complete it, that person is then required to pass on the challenge. Which is exactly what O'Brien did after accepting Obama's chin-up challenge. Of course, he did have some help... Remember the days when your father or grandfather would invite you out onto the lake and you'd sit for hours just waiting for that fish to grab the line? When it did you were both so excited and in awe – largely due to the fact that it was actually happening! Well, that's exactly the opposite of what Joshua Jorgensen's BlacktipH Fishing is. Mastering the art of "extreme fishing," the 25-year-old fisherman from Canada – who now resides and does most of his work and play in Florida – prides himself on being an expert in pushing the limit, while pulling the line, in order to nab and release a fish. And thankfully because of YouTube, we're all in for the ride... "I like to be in a situation where I'm really tested to see if I can actually catch a fish," he tells MStars News. And given the near 100,000 YouTube subscribers his BlacktipH Fishing web series has – not to mention the over 52 million views – it looks like viewers can't get enough of Jorgensen's extreme videos either. Rand Paul may be running for President of the United States, but believe it or not, that isn't why he's making headlines. It's being reported that the video Paul used to announce his Presidency run was pulled from YouTube due to the fact that he didn't have the rights to use the song his people put in said video –– John Rich's "Shuttin' Detroit Down." Billboard notes that the use of Rich's song is the most likely reason Paul's video was pulled from the video streaming site. The publication further notes that the Senator's people are currently "looking into the problem." Read More »
If you've seen HBO's Going Clear documentary about Scientology then you already know that a certain portion was dedicated to actor John Travolta, who has been in the religion for quite some time. The actor, who has faced gay rumors of being a closeted homosexual in the past, has always spoken brightly about the famed L. Ron Hubbard group, and after the release of Going Clear, people were clamoring for some sort of comment. And well, now they've got it. Travolta has officially broken his silence on the film. And despite all the negative experiences depicted in it, he claims that it's been "nothing but brilliant" to him. According to Gossip Cop, Travolta recently did an interview with the Tampa Bay Times and noted that "it wouldn't make sense" for him or Tom Cruise – another famous, if not the most famous scientologist out there – to join the critics of the film. Marilyn Manson may be a scary dude, but that doesn't mean there aren't people out there willing to knock him down a peg or two. Manson reportedly stopped by Denny's late in the evening after a concert this past Saturday.
