If you tuned into last night’s episode of CONAN then you undoubtedly saw Portlandia’s own Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein take to host Conan O’Brien’s couch. During the duo’s interview, O’Brien brought up a little beef Armisen has with his former Saturday Night Live co-star, who recently lit up the screen in The Skeleton Twins, Bill Hader. Looks like this coming summer is gearing up to be pretty great, especially for fans of Dave Matthews Band. The famed jam band just announced their 2015 summer tour schedule following the birthday of the noted frontman, Dave Matthews, and the release of the oh, so epic (and kind of confusing) slap fight video between the DMB frontman and Rockbridge Guitar Company head honcho Brian Calhoun. Call Woody Allen what you will – we know Dylan Farrow has a few words for him considering that open letter she wrote a while back calling on those pedophilia and abuse claims – but it’s never lazy. The famed comedian, writer, director, producer and musician just inked a deal with Amazon Studios in what will be his first-ever television series. Following their Golden Globe win for the Jeffrey Tambor-led series Transparent, it’s no wonder that the studio is looking for their next big project. And given the fact that Woody Allen is Woody Allen – Annie Hall, Manhattan, Blue Jasmine, Midnight in Paris … enough said – it looks like they very well could be on their way to getting it! It’s official … Stephen Colbert is heading to CBS this coming Sept. 8! The former Colbert Report host ended his reign on Comedy Central at the end of last year, but it’ll be a little while until we see him taking the spot at the Ed Sullivan Theater. With David Letterman’s last show coming May 20, there will be a significant amount of time before Colbert shows his out-of-character persona on camera, but that just means we’ll be able to kick off the Fall 2015 in style! Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee may be off the air for a little bit but it seems Seinfeld isn’t done delivering to his followers a collection of funny goodness … if that’s a thing? Just last week, the Seinfeld star shared a Single Shot video – you know, the “Grow A Pair” clip – just after his NBC series co-creator, and Curb Your Enthusiasm star, Larry David gave an in-depth interview on the Howard Stern Show for his new Broadway play Fish in the Dark. Today, however, it appears the veteran comedian is present at the Detroit Auto Show with Acura, who sponsors his famed web series. It’s being reported that famed screenwriter and producer Brian Clemens has recently passed away at the age of 83-years-old. The writer-producer was noted for being a producer on The Avengers … but not the newfound successful films; Clemens worked closely on the 1960s television version along with The Professionals. His death comes before the release of the second Avengers movie, Avengers: Age of Ultron. Read More »
It’s been a crazy week after the unfortunate and horrific murders at the Charlie Hebdo offices and killings in Paris, France. After MStars News first reported on the events, including Real Time host Bill Maher heading on over to Jimmy Kimmel Live and making some comments about the Muslim religion, it’s now being announced that the underground hacking group known as Anonymous has declared war on Islamist Extremists, claiming they will take down any extremist site they see online. Following those Calvin Klein ads which picture singer-turned-something Justin Bieber modeling the fashion company’s new underwear line alongside model Lara Stone, the folks over at BeatheHeavy made a joke image which claimed the CK people used Photoshop to make Bieber look more muscular … in a few different areas. Apparently it seems the former beau to Selena Gomez didn’t find it too funny because he’s forcing the site to take it down with a cease and desist letter. Read More »
It’s being reported that Taylor Negron, an actor who consistently maintained a recognizable face in some of the biggest films and televisions in Hollywood history – including Friends, Seinfeld and the 1980s film Fast Times at Ridgemont High – has passed away at the age of 57. Negron died just yesterday (Saturday, Jan. 10), and was found by his cousin, Chuck Negron. The actor was famed for playing Allesandro in the famed 90s series Friends, which starred Lisa Kudrow, who just finished up playing Valerie Cherish in HBO’s The Comeback. Read More »
It’s official – Dave Matthews is nearing 50-years-old. Not that that’s a bad thing, of course. The musician turns 48 today, just a week or so after announcing that the Dave Matthews Band 2015 tour schedule will soon be released – which has fans (including a certain writer at MStars News) uber excited. While the famed “Space Between” singer is nearing half-a-decade on this grand planet, he hasn’t lost his childish side. Maybe they’re not as hot as when she had that little nip slip on Andy Cohen’s Bravo show Watch What Happens Live or even when she basically performed naked during her MTV VMAs wardrobe malfunction, but we think they’re still some pretty sex photos. Following the horrific murders and attacks that took place in Paris surrounding the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo – which is now being known as the Charlie Hebdo Tragedy – the comedy world has done nothing but unleashed an outpour of support for those overseas. A couple of nights ago, outspoken liberal comedian Bill Maher stopped by ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live to chat about what went down. And while the below clip definitely holds some funny to it, the Real Time host had no time getting … well, real … and deliver his sincere thoughts on the subject. Season 5 of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee is finished, yes, but that doesn't mean Jerry Seinfeld stops bringing the funny to his CCC audience. The famed comedian just dropped a new video from his uber successful web series, a scaled down version that clips together numerous snippets from various seasons into what he calls a "Single Shot" –– you know, like the coffee. Anyway, this newest one brings in the likes of Daily Show host Jon Stewart, comedian Amy Schumer and Howard Stern. The latter of which comes fresh off his interview with Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm creator Larry David. Of course, while their interview contained various mentions of the aforementioned shows, it was largely about David's new Broadway play Fish in the Dark. Read More »
