The Andrews Sisters, the legendary vocal group from the World War II era, lost its last surviving member and lead singer when Patty Andrews died yesterday at the age of 94 years old. Patty died of natural causes and is survived by her foster daughter Pam Dubois. Her husband of 60 years and Andrews Sisters pianist, Walter Weschler, died in 2010. Patty's older sisters and other members of the performing group, LaVerne and Maxene, died in 1967 and 1995 respectively. Read More »
St. Louis Pastor Alois Bell recently slighted an Applebee's waitress of an automatic 18% tip, commenting on the paper receipt that "I give God 10%, why do you get 18." Chelsea Welch (who didn't actually wait on the party) thought the snub was pretty funny, and uploaded an image of the snide remark on Reddit. She was promptly fired from her waitressing position at Applebee's after Bell complained about her name being misrepresented on the web. Now, Pastor Bell has spoken out to apologize for her rather rude comment... but not in regards to Welch's termination. Instead, Bell insists that since her "no-tip" proclamation went viral on the web, her church and ministry have been wracked with embarrassment... and she is sorry. Read More »

Oprah Winfrey celebrated her 59th birthday on Tuesday by having to deal with an injury brought on by Tyler Perry's gift of a TON of flowers. After trying to move some of the floral arrangements to a better spot in her mansion located in Montecito, California, the former talk show host sustained a sprained back muscle. Caleb Moore, a championship snowmobiler, has died this morning after a terrible crash last week in Aspen,Colorado, at this season's Winter X-Games. After coming up short on a backflip attempt during a freestyle competition, the 25-year-old snowmobiler flew over his vehicles handlebars and landed face first in the snow. Immediately afterwards, his 450 pound snowmobile rolled over him. After a few tense minutes spent on the snow-covered ground, Caleb was helped off of the course and brought to a hospital for concussion treatment. His situation worsened with bleeding around his heart and brain trauma, so Moore was flown to a hospital in Grand Junction for surgery. Jaws is on the minds of Long Island, New York, residence as a very rare spotting of a great white shark in the water near the Hamptons is closely monitored by officials. The great white was named Mary Lee when she was first caught and tagged last September in Cape Cod by OCEARCH, a non-profit global shark tracker. Mary Lee seems to pose no threat to the community, but the media is trying to get the Jaws theme stuck in your heads. Read More »

David Beckham, the most recognizable soccer player (or footballer), ended his career with the Major League Soccer (MLS) team, the L.A. Galaxy, and is on his way back to Europe to play for the French club team, Paris-Saint Germain. In December, Beckham ended his stint with the Galaxy with a second consecutive MLS title for the team. His retirement from the MLS was never meant to be a retirement from the professional world of soccer, but just a break from play.
