Justin Bieber's bad luck with his Ferrari continued when the white sports car was pulled over last night on Sunset Boulevard. Fortunately the pop star was nowhere to be found, but instead his friend and rapper, Lil' Za, was the one behind the wheel. Bieber's friend was handcuffed and placed in a squad car by the Police officers who pulled him over. The 19-year-old rapper did not have a driver's license. Lil' Za (real name Xavier Smith) was accompanied by an unnamed female acquaintance on the drive. Smith was driven to a nearby gas station where an SUV was waiting for him and the girl. President Barack Obama's administration announced earlier today new details concerning the contraception mandate and how (after nearly 50 lawsuits from religious organizations) this new rule accommodates faith groups. These new rules require employers with religious objection to the mandate to self-certify that they are religiously-based non-profits, therefore qualifying the organization's exemption to provide birth control and other related health care benefits. The organization must then instruct a third-party insurer to provide coverage for an employee in need of such benefits directly. Read More »
Congrats to actress Penelope Cruz and her husband Javier Bardem - reports confirm that the couple is expecting their second child together! The New York Post's "Page Six" broke the big baby news early Friday (Feb. 1), and reps have since confirmed to Us Weekly that the 38-year-old actress is indeed pregnant with her second child. This means that the "Blow" starlet and her younger sister Monica Cruz will get to celebrate their pregnancies together, at least for a few months! Donna Savattere is quickly becoming a household name ever since her affair with Dan Marino become public this week when the football legend admitted to the allegations on Wednesday. Savattere and Marino's relationship produced a daughter, Chloe Alexis Savaterre, in 2005. 51-year-old Marino and current wife of 30 years, Claire, have 6 children of their own. The former Miami Dolphins quarterback released a statement taking full responsibility for his actions and ensuring the public that he and his wife are working through the new developments. Savattere was a CBS Sports production assistant when Dan Marino joined the network as a pregame analyst, leading to the affair in 2004. An employee stationed in a Seattle, Washington K-Mart stockroom received a rather shocking "high" when he/she went to open a shipment and discovered ten-pounds of marijuana wrapped in garbage bags and pages of a Korean newspaper. According to recent reports, the hefty shipment of pot was originally postmarked to travel from L.A. to Philadelphia, but somehow managed to wind up at the Seattle, WA K-Mart store located at 13200 Aurora Ave. N. on Monday afternoon (Jan. 28). Ed Koch, former New York City mayor, has died this morning from congestive heart failure at the age of 88 years old. Admitted to a New York City hospital for shortness of breath on Monday, he was moved to Intensive Care on Thursday. Koch has been battling heart disease ever since leaving office in 1990. He served three terms as NYC mayor starting in 1977. As he came into his first term of office, the city was trying to recover from a bankruptcy bailout, a terrible and infamous blackout, and a crisis in crime and looting. Koch soon implemented the ideals of law and order in city that clearly needed it. Though there was a spike in drugs and crime during Koch's terms as mayor, Koch cleaned up many of the city's services that needed improvement, most notably the New York City Subway system.
