Several fans were thrilled when a reunited Destiny's Child took the stage alongside pop/R&B goddess Beyonce at the 2013 Super Bowl Halftime Show. "The Way It Is" songstress Keyshia Cole, on the other hand, was not so happy. The 31-year-old multi-platinum singer/songwriter initially hit up Twitter during Sunday evening's game (Feb. 3) to tweet her excitement over Beyonce's highly-anticipated halftime performance. But once fellow Destiny's Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams joined the "Crazy in Love" starlet up onstage, Cole had a rather harsh change of heart. Not only did she claim that a "wack" Williams always manages to "f##k the groove up," but she also insinuated that some musicians (aka, Beyonce) only gain fame due to the power of their "influential parents." Joe Flacco is fresh off of his Super Bowl victory and earning Most Valuable Player but probably even more exciting is the news that his wife, Dana, is pregnant with their second child. The 28-year-old star quarterback announced the news to his mother, Karen, last night at an intimate victory celebration after the big game. This morning, Flacco shared the news of his wife's pregnancy with the world. Joe and Dana started their relationship 11 years ago as high school seniors at Audubon High School in New Jersey. They were married in 2011 and have a son, Stephen Vincent, born June 13, 2012. The Ravens quarterback has been described mainly as "dull" and reserved, with not much personal information available to the public. Larry Nevers, one of the two Detroit cops convicted of second-degree murder in the fatal, brutal 1992 beating of African American "suspect" Malice Green, died in his sleep at the age of 72 on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013. Back on November 5, 1992, police officers Nevers and Walter Budzyn were accused of beating Green to death with heavy police flashlights outside a crack house in Detroit when the suspect failed to relinquish a vial of crack cocaine. Although convicted, Nevers continued to voice his innocence, blaming the conviction on "racial politics." Reports from the Macomb County Medical Examiner's Office confirm that Nevers passed away on Sunday and that his body was released to family members later that day. Read More »
Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco could be facing a fine from the FCC after he was caught on camera expressing his excitement over his victory by dropping the F-Bomb. Flacco had three touchdowns in and lead the Ravens to a 34-31 Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers. In an exchange close enough to broadcast microphones with Ravens teammate, lineman Marshal Yanda (who dropped the S-bomb), the quarterback said, "F------ awesome!" Clearly such a strong word on live television has stirred up some talk around the Internet, with speculation of fines and punishments coming from the Federal Communications Committee (FCC). In order for any action to be made by the FCC, the organization has to receive complaints from viewers. Fortunately for the Super Bowl champion, his swearing was on air after 10PM and the "indecency rules" enforced by the FCC run from 6PM to 10PM. Considering the fact that Joe Flacco had a stellar performance this weekend and just won the most important game in the football, even if the quarterback gets fined it is highly unlikely the MVP will care that much. Shaquille O'Neal's infamous "Shaqetta" persona made an appear at Super Bowl 2013, when the popular NBA star recorded himself lip-syncing along to Beyonce's stellar halftime show performance from the Superdome stands in New Orleans. At least this hilarious lip-syncing performance doesn't involve any sort of controversy (like at Obama's Presidential Inauguration earlier this year). Whitney Houston's mother, Cissy, has written a tell-all book entitled "Remembering Whitney," which addresses the late singer's history of drug abuse among other things. Bobbi Kristina Brown, Whitney's daughter, has publicly displayed her disgust for the book, calling it "disrespectful" to her mother. The book focuses on how Cissy dealt with her daughter's death and has garnished praise and press including an interview with Oprah Winfrey on her new show "Next Chapter." The 19-year-old daughter of Bobby Brown and the "I Will Always Love You" superstar recently went on a Twitter rant to slam her grandmother's book, calling it "disrespectful" and intolerable.
