Last week, comedic television personality Stephen Colbert said good-bye to his mother, Lorna, who passed away at the age of 92 years old. After taking some time off for mourning, Stephen returned to "The Colbert Report" last night and stepped away from his character in a rare instance to pay tribute to the mother that he had just lost. James Gandolfini, best known for his three-time Emmy Award-winning portrayal of Tony Soprano on the HBO hit series "The Sopranos," was found dead in Rome, Italy, earlier on Wednesday June 19, 2014. Reports are claiming that the 51-year-old actor died as a result of an apparent heart attack. Gandolfini is survived by his wife Deborah Lin, who gave birth to the couple's daughter, Liliana, in October 2012. He also has a teenage son from a previous marriage. Although the Miami Heat came out on top against the San Antonio Spurs last night in game six of the 2013 NBA finals, all anyone can really talk about today is how LeBron James lost his signature headband during the game! It just so happens that the Spurs were leading 80 to 77 in the fourth quarter of the heated match when the headband came off, but then the Miami came from behind to win. Earlier this week, Justin Bieber and his white Ferrari were once again involved in an incident. Los Angeles police interviewed the 19-year-old international heartthrob concerning a possible hit and run incident that happened outside of the Laugh Factory on Monday night. According to TMZ, the Biebs was leaving the comedy club with friend Lil Twist and was surrounded by photographers. So when he was pulling his car out, one paparazzo was allegedly pinned between Justin's car and another vehicle. Video footage that caught it all on tape has since helped clear Justin's name, but now the police are looking into whether the injured photographer was in the roadway or not during the "hitting." Bleeding Cool has gotten its hands on "100% confirmed" casting calls for 2015's Star Wars: Episode VII. This is the first official piece of news in terms of casting for the J.J. Abrams-directed film that has been confirmed so far. Open casting reportedly started today in the United Kingdom and according to these casting calls, the lead character might be a teenage female. Just about a week after Warner Bros announced that they had pulled the plug on the sequel to 1994's cult comedy classic Dumb and Dumber, Universal Pictures closed a deal for domestic distribution on the film. Dumb and Dumber To will be directed by the Farrelly Brothers, the team that made the original film, and according to a recent interview with Peter Farrelly, the script is already completed. Peter and his brother Bobby are set to rework the script originally written by Sean Anders and John Morris. Original stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are also set to return for the film. Read More »
During her concert in Chicago at the B96 Summer Bash over the weekend, singer Demi Lovato took some time out of her performance to open up to her fans in attendance. The 20-year-old "Heart Attack" singer is currently promoting her latest album, Demi, and being in Illinois reminded her of a troubling time in her life. Back in 2010, Demi checked into a rehabilitation center in Chicago to undergo treatment for depression, cutting and a number of other issues for which she wanted to get help. Felicity Jones (Like Crazy) signed on for an unnamed role in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 back in January of 2013, and we have yet to figure out whom she will portray. Many rumors got around suggesting that Jones would be playing the part of Felicia Hardy, who is secretly Black Cat in the Spider-Man universe. This is a strong female counter against Spider-Man so many were hoping she would appear in the Marc Webb-directed sequel. Brad Pitt premiered his latest movie, World War Z, in New York City on Monday and then stopped by "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" the following day for a special yodel duet with the host. The two shared an interesting conversation across the Big Apple's rooftops and then decided to attempt a duet of yodeling, which had reportedly never been successfully done before. Dave Prentis, current General Secretary of the United Kingdom's second largest trade union (UNISON), has compared the Duchess of Cambridge to "young women having babies to get state handouts." Prentis made this blatant attack on the 31-year-old mother-to-be during his speech at the union's national conference in which he criticized cuts to the welfare state. Middleton is currently on maternity from her Royal duties and public appearances as her reported mid-July due date approaches. In the forthcoming July 4, 2013, issue of Rolling Stone magazine, the normally tight-lipped Johnny Depp opened up about his split from the mother of his children, model and singer Vanessa Paradis. One Direction’s Niall Horan seemed a little fed up with everything according to a recent Twiter rant. The 19-year-old Irish singer has been feeling very tired on One Direction’s North American leg of the “Take Me Home” tour, and yesterday he let his feelings be known on the popular social media platform.
